Donations Support the Following Programs

Webinars, Panel Discussions and Family Events: We will continue our commitment to providing parents, educators and other professionals with webinars, panel discussions and special guest events in 2021. We’re currently confirming all dates but look for events on Social Media and Mental Health, Keeping Kids Safer Online, a Youth Panel discussion, and a family event on the Benefits of Good Posture, to name a few. Emerson Hospital Program: Turning Life On has teamed up with Emerson Hospital to create a digital wellness program with the goals of increasing awareness of the many impacts that electronic devices have on youth today, as well as to provide research-backed advice that empowers families to make healthy choices about digital media use. Our podcast series includes interviews with both local and nationally-known clinicians, youth and school resource officers, including Dr. Amy Forrer, Dr. Anthony Rao, and Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair. Each episode addresses one of the six pillars of digital wellness and offers research and suggestions. Listen to this podcast with your kids as a way to jumpstart the conversation about digital wellness. As we move into 2021, thanks in part to a donation from CHNA15, we will be convening focus groups and summarizing research in an effort to create a Digital Wellness Program that can be implemented through high schools. Youth Leadership Council: As part of our commitment to creating a school-based digital wellness program, we’re establishing a Youth Leadership Council. The goals of this project are to “Listen, Elevate, and Support” Youth. We will listen to youth feedback on what we’re doing and where we are going. We will elevate the youth voice by giving youth a platform for sharing experiences, struggles, successes and suggestions. And we will bring youth together to support each other and connect them with adult allies who can support their work in the digital wellness movement. If you know a high schooler, college student or recent grad interested in joining our Youth Leadership Council, have them complete this form. To support this project, donate here
